Frequently asked questions from lawyers

Does the transmission report count as proof of meeting a deadline?

The transmission report is considered an indication that the fax reached the recipient. It records the date, time and recipient number. Case law recognises the transmission report as prima facie evidence of successful transmission. For critical deadlines we recommend archiving the transmission report carefully and, if necessary, confirming receipt by phone.

Can I fax courts while on the move?

Yes, with FaxMonkey you can fax from any device with an internet connection - laptop, tablet or smartphone. Ideal if you are in a court hearing and a pleading must be filed urgently, or if you are working outside the firm. You only need the document as a PDF.

What happens if the fax cannot be delivered?

If delivery fails (for example because the line is busy), we retry transmission automatically several times. If the fax cannot be delivered after multiple attempts, you will be notified immediately. If non-delivery is due to a technical issue on our side, we refund the amount in accordance with our terms and conditions. For time-critical deadlines we recommend allowing sufficient buffer.

How much does a fax with FaxMonkey cost?

The first page costs R19.00, each additional page R4.75. There are no base fees, no subscriptions and no hidden costs. Ideal as a backup when you need to fax occasionally outside the firm.
