Is a fax sent over the internet legally valid?

Yes, a fax sent online is just as legally valid as a fax from a traditional fax machine. A fax is considered received once it has fully arrived at the recipient. The delivery report serves as proof of successful transmission. Important: for documents that legally require an original handwritten signature, a fax is not sufficient - the signed original must be sent by mail.

Which documents can I send by fax?

You can send almost all common document formats by fax: PDF files, Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx), images (JPG, PNG), and many more formats. We automatically convert your document to the format optimized for fax transmission. The maximum file size is 20 MB. For best results we recommend PDF documents with clearly legible text.

How long does it take to send a fax?

After successful payment your fax is handed over to our fax servers immediately and transmission starts right away. The actual transmission time depends on the number of pages and the connection quality to the recipient fax machine. Typically, transmitting one page takes about 30 to 60 seconds. You will automatically receive a delivery report by email after the transmission is complete.

What happens if the fax cannot be delivered?

If delivery fails (for example because the recipient number is busy or does not answer), we automatically retry multiple times. If the fax cannot be delivered after several attempts, you will receive a notification by email. In case of a technical non-delivery on our side, we refund the amount - see our Terms.
