Frequently asked questions from lawyers

Is the transmission report valid as evidence for meeting a deadline?

The transmission report is considered an indication of receipt of the fax by the recipient. It records the date, time and recipient number. Case law recognises the transmission report as prima facie evidence of successful transmission. For critical deadlines we recommend carefully archiving the transmission report and, if necessary, confirming receipt by phone.

Can I fax to courts while on the move?

Yes, with FaxMonkey you can fax from any device with internet access - laptop, tablet or smartphone. Ideal if you are in a court hearing and a pleading needs to be filed urgently, or when you are working away from the firm. You only need the document as a PDF.

What happens if the fax cannot be delivered?

If delivery fails (for example because the line is busy), we will automatically retry transmission several times. If the fax cannot be delivered after multiple attempts, you will be notified immediately. In the event of non-delivery due to a technical issue on our side, we will refund the amount in accordance with the T&Cs. For time-critical deadlines we recommend allowing sufficient buffer.

How much does a fax with FaxMonkey cost?

The first page costs £0.85, each additional page £0.22. There are no basic fees, no subscriptions and no hidden charges. Ideal as a backup when you occasionally need to fax away from the firm.
